Hello Happy People,
** Disclaimer: This episode features Christian author, Chaplain Patrick Day. While we never discuss religious doctrine (for any religions)on my podcast, many authors share how their personal beliefs inspired their writing. Chaplain Day's fiction book is inspired by his jail and add!ct!on ministry work as a Gideon. Keep in mind: nothing in this episode is given or to be taken as medical advice. If you or someone you know needs intervention for mental or physical health, please seek out qualified, personalized, medical advice.
** Trigger warning: discussion of su!c!de, depress!on, and ad!ct!ion.
** Bleeped and misspelled words to prevent episode censorship: mÜrders, su!c!de, k!lled
Hello My Happy People,
Dianne is thrilled to share with you her interview with Chaplain Patrick Day. Patrick has a long career in education and writing. He earned a Master’s degree in English Literature from the University of Minnesota and a Master’s in Reading from St. Thomas University. He started writing professionally as an advertising copywriter and then moved into higher education. Patrick took early retirement as a college Dean of Instruction and turned his focus to creating his publishing company and writing books. He has written nine books, all of which are available on Amazon.
Patrick has been active in jail and add!ct!on ministry since 2005. He’s a credentialed chaplain who’s ministered to hundreds of add!cts in one-on-one sessions and thousands in group presentations. Finding the Safest Place on Earth was inspired by those experiences. How I Escaped From Depress!on came out of his own five year battle to overcome major depression. He has been depression free since 2010.
Patrick's publishing house, Pyramid Publishers, is a member of the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA). Pyramid Publishers has pledged to uphold the highest standards of the publishing industry.
Patrick and his wife live in a suburb of Minneapolis. The couple has two sons, two daughters-in-law, three grandchildren, and one grand dog, all of whom they love deeply.
Enjoy,
Dianne
