You can see her extra large tea cup which has coffee in it today, her coffee cup with the words Ask Me about My Books on it filled with pens and pencils. There is also the book Crime Classification Manual on her desk which is used for investigating and classifying violent crimes. You see her microphone set up for the podcast and on her desktop you can see her Burckhardt Books Website and the site page for the Book Banter with Dianne Burckhardt podcast. Various office supplies like pens, highlighters, and paper, are scattered on the desktop. In a stand beside the desk you can see design supplies like labels, cardstock, and T-shirt Iron-ons as well. )
Hello My Happy People,
I hope you are doing well. I am toying with an idea that might be crazy ... but so am I so it might work out. I have been thinking about replacing at least the first Manic Monday Vlog every month with an author showcase. For example, one Monday it would be all Children's book authors I want to showcase. The next month it would be all Mystery/Thriller authors. The next, all romance ... you get the idea.
I am not sure if I would do this in video form on TikTok or make it an online magazine on BurckhardtBooks.com. I haven't really thought about details a lot at this point. To begin, any author who wants to can get into the showcase for free. If it gets a significant following, I might charge a small fee for a month in the showcase (like $5-$10 per mention depending on size of ad space or length if video). I have a lot ot work out before I worry about fees.
Obviously this is an attempt by my brain to find more things to do to keep me from actually writing my books now that I have a clear plan in mind for the next two years. I swear this is the problem with having a creative mind sometimes, you want to do everything you possibly can! I may need a keeper soon to keep me focused.
Anyway, I am getting this blog done early so I can spend the rest of tonight just writing. I want the Into the West: Family Ties finished this weekend. I know I said I would finish it by the end of May, but in my head I was counting this weekend in there because it fills out the last full week at the end of May. That is my story and I'm sticking too it ... it still counts!
So without further blather (yes, I have come to really like that word) from me, let's get to the jokes!
Have a fabulous weekend people!
Dianne
Doctor: Your wife told me your memory has gotten so bad it caused you to be fire from your job. Can you tell me what happened?
Patient: Oh, I wasn't fired. I said I lost my job. I’m still employed. I just can’t remember where.
Q: Why do people always “nod off to sleep” in sales meetings?
A: Because it makes it look like we’re just emphatically agreeing with everything they're saying.
HR Director: Who should we list as your person to be notified in case of emergency?
Employee: Well I would hope a very good doctor.
Boss: Why do you love working in teams so much?
Employee: It gives you several choices where to put the blame if a project goes wrong.
Boss: Are you good at multitasking?
Applicant: Oh yes, I can waste time, be unproductive, and procrastinate all at once.
Q: What is a sure fire way to ruin a Friday?
A: Finding out it's only Tuesday.
Q: Wouldn't you love to find the Fountain of Youth?
A: We have enough youth, but if you find a map to the Fountain of Smart I'll bring the snacks for that expedition!
Doctor: Do you get plenty of exercise?
Patient: Oh yes, everyday I will jump to conclusions, push my luck, and dodge deadlines.
Q: How do construction workers party?
A: They raise the roof.
Q: What is worse than seeing something done wrong?
A: Seeing it done wrong slowly.
And last but not least ...
Q: How do you know the work week is rough?
A: Because after every Monday and Tuesday, even the calendar says WTF!
