Notice: Due to the massive redesign and creation of Burckhardt Books, some internal links in blogs posted before January 24, 2022 may no long be active. If you find a broken link, please send us an email and let us know which blog it is in. We will do our best to go back and check links in previous blogs as time permits. But let's be honest, it's going to be slow going.

Whatever Wednesday: Birth Announcement!

Hello, Posse!

I am sure a few of you are wondering what this announcement could be. Let's start off with, NO, there is no actual human baby on the way! I'm in my 50s. That ship has not only sailed long ago, but has rotted through the hull and sunk to the bottom of the ocean!

So, to what have we given birth? A brand new website!

We are officially welcoming into the world www.BurckhardtBooks.com. We have completed the majority of the site page redesigns and just have a few finishing touches to do.

Going forward, this will be the home for everything Stephen Burckhardt and Dianne Burckhardt. We have even created new mailboxes on this domain. This is what I was working on today. Lord have mercy, it was such a pain in the butt!

I had to contact customer support on my provider's site a few times and in the end it took an in-home technical support computer takeover by an incredible IT customer service technician (a.k.a. my better half, Pedro, who happens to be an IT architect by profession) to get the last touches finished and get everything set up and working. I do not know where I would be without the 24/7 in-home technical support.

I do not have the new email address updated on this site just yet. However, any emails sent to the old addresses are set to forward to the news ones. So for now, no matter which email addresses you use, new or old, they will all get to us. However, if you would like to know, we now have:

S.Burckhardt@BurckhardtBooks.com for Stephen Burckhardt

D.Burckhardt@BurckhardtBooks.com for Dianne Burckhardt

and a general

Contact@BurckhardtBooks.com for the heck of it.

And I think next Wednesday just might be our first podcast for Whatever Wednesdays!!

I am still working on some of the equipment setup and soundproofing work, but I think I have it all good enough to get started. I am really looking forward to this. It should be fun.

You might also be happy to know that I started working on Part Seven, Into the West: Family Ties again last night. I took a little detour while working on the creation of Burckhardt Books. We will be doing a cover reveal on the website here for part seven very soon. I am sure some of you may remember the cover art from about two years ago when I had to redo it all to add in what is now book five to get the saga to come out how I wanted. We are almost to the end, posse. This last book will set up the next saga, Surviving the West, which will come after a few books by Dianne.

This Into the West Saga Serial was always intended to be a learning experience. I had never self-published anything and hadn't tried to build a website since about 1999 so there was a lot I knew I had to learn. I think I'm doing pretty good and am looking forward to see what I can learn and improve on in the future. I have a lot of book ideas and I'm ready to get at them!

Have a great week, posse!

Dianne
