Hello My Happy People,
I hope everything is going great with all of you. I am finally off of bed rest and hope to be getting some interviews in the can for season 2 of Book Banter with Dianne Burckhardt starting tonight with author LM Wilson. You can check out her links listed below at the bottom of this blog.
I also have some plans for new TikTok videos, blog changes, and of course writing books. I am looking to publish two and maybe even three books this year. Considering I published exactly zero books last year I feel like I need to play a little catch up. Last year I was more focused on getting the podcast up and running, but now that it is all set, it's time to get back to focusing on my books.
In keeping with focusing on my books, I'm off to finish up a few things today so I can get to work this week on finishing up part seven, Into the West: Family Ties. The final book in the Into the West Saga Serial. I think it is best to finish this serial before I move on to finish my new thriller, The Touch.
I have more research I want to do before I write too much of The Touch. I want to make sure the story is correct as far as the techniques described in the police investigation and criminal profiling. While I actually have a degree in forensic criminology and specialized in profiling, it has been a good 20 years since I earned that degree and I have not worked in that field so I thought it was a good idea to do some research and brush up on those skills. New developments can happen fast at times in this field so I am sure there have been a lot of improvements since I graduated. I have really been enjoying the research.
The first video I have planned for TikTok is actually an unboxing video and sharing all the research books I bought for my thriller. I bought quite a few because my fantastic husband, P.R., actually matched what I was planning to spend so I could get a few technical manuals written by FBI profilers for forensic investigators. I was geeking out so hard about the books. I'm weird ... I own it!
I hope to have more information next week about the blog changes that are coming. I'm doing a bit of restructuring to free up more actual book writing time.
