Hello My Happy People,
I was thrilled to chat with the incredible Lynne Gologner. Lynne started her author journey early in childhood. She would fill page after page with stories and poems, using her creative talents to make sense of the world around her. Even today, Lynne keeps her early work nearby to remind her to not to lose sight of where it all started for her. Lynne would go on to earn a MFA in Writing, she worked as a journalist for 15 years in New York, Washington, D.C., and Detroit. She also taught writing for decades at a college level, even teaching globally. Lynne decided to shift her career in 2007 and moved from journalism into marketing. She created Your People, LLC but it wasn't long before she shifted her focus again to come back to her first love, writing. Lynne began writing books and returned to teaching. We chatted about Lynne's return to writing and her first novel, Woman of Valor, which was published in September of 2023. However, this was not Lynne's first book, having previously published eight other titles. She also decided to help other women over 40 to get their stories out into the public with the creation of Scotia Road Books, her independent publishing imprint. Currently Lynne divides her day between writing in the mornings while afternoons are spent teaching and working with clients. She also hosts her own podcast, The Make Meaning Podcast, where she interviews authors and publishing industry professionals.
